Overview
The Robotopia Creator is a 3D editor that runs in your browser. Lay out a scene from ready-made models, attach components to things to give them behaviours, and play the result in the Robotopia app.
Your work saves itself as you edit. There's no Save button.
If you haven't seen the game yet, here's a trailer.
What a map is made of
These three ideas cover almost everything:
- An entity is anything in your scene. They're listed in the explorer.
- A component gets attached to an entity to give a behaviour or different appearance.
- An asset is something you can reuse: a 3D model, a voice, a robot's personality, or a page of facts called lore.
So a robot is an entity with an Agent component that uses a personality asset. A wall is an entity with an Appearance component that uses a model asset.

Read these three in order and you'll have a map you can play.
Make it better
- Robots and personalities: how a robot looks, sounds and talks.
- Writing personalities that behave: keep a robot in character when players push it.
- Design a map that plays well: size, layout, and showing players where to go.
- Playtest in the game: try your map and fix what you find.
Share it
- Sharing and publishing: build with friends, publish, or save a copy.
- Get your map played: title, picture, clips and Discord.
Look something up
- The interface: every panel and button, by the name on screen.
- Tools and arranging: moving, turning, resizing, snapping and grouping.
- Components: every component and what each field does.
- Assets: the kinds of assets and the kits you can build from.
When you're stuck
- Troubleshooting: what the editor's messages mean, and how to fix them.
- FAQ: quick answers.
- What's not possible yet: what the editor can't do today.
- Glossary: every game-making word these pages use.
